Lisa LaRochelle, senior art director and principal, has designed and coordinated projects at Emerson, Wajdowicz Studios since joining the company in 1985. Prior to that time, she worked as a graphic designer in the advertising department of Sotheby’s International and as a book designer and art director at Addison Wesley Publishing, MSA Advertising and Stanford University Press. LaRochelle graduated magna cum laude with a BFA degree from the University of Hartford Art School in Connecticut.
LaRochelle and her design partner, Jurek Wajdowicz, have won over 900 design awards in prestigious international competitions and have earned top recognition from every major design organization in the world, including New York Art Directors Club, Communication Arts, Creativity, Applied Arts, Critique, Graphis and Print magazines, American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Mead Annual Report Show, and the 100 Show of the American Center for Design.
LaRochelle’s design work is represented in the permanent collections of the U.S. Library of Congress, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Germany and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Switzerland, among others.
